Travel Itinerary:
Located
60 air miles from Yellowknife, at the west end of remote Blachford Lake, just north of the east arm of
Great Slave Lake, Blachford is a spacious, new, environmentally
friendly, post-and-beam log main lodge, with accommodations for 38
including 5 rustic, but comfortable log cabins and a main lodge with
full bathroom facilities. A BBQ, picnic area, open decks – even a
traditional 18’ tipi! - are available for various activities. In the
evening, guests can enjoy the sauna and outdoor jacuzzi hot tub. And
lodge meals are a sensuous affair sure to stimulate appetites for the
other activities you can do while at the lodge.
In Winter:
Enjoy a snowmobile tour to a secluded island, a walk together on the
nature trails, or simply sit in the hot tub together with a glass of
your favourite wine. You can also try snowmobiling on your own, more
doglsedding, ice-fishing and of course, Northern Lights viewing in the
evening...sightings are virtually guaranteed! Note: an optional 1 night
overnight guided dog sledding tour has been included. Guests will stay
in heated, expedition-style tents and end the evening in front of a
roaring fire, with Northern Lights soaring overhead.
In Summer:
Guests can enjoy a boat tour to a secluded island, a walk together on
the nature trails, try canoeing or kayaking or simply sit in the hot
tub together with a glass of your favourite wine. World-class sport
fishing and even Northern Lights viewing is possible beginning in
mid-August. Note: an optional 1 night overnight guided boat tour has
been included. Couples will stay in heated, expedition-style tents and
end the evening in front of a roaring fire, under the Midnight Sun.
